Spare a Thought For Those Of Us Who Don’t Love Cooking

Iso inferiority complex, be gone.

If you haven’t baked banana bread, do you even iso?? You can’t scroll through Instagram right now without future Masterchef Australia entrants flooding your feed. We love the solace we’re seeking in returning to our kitchens and firing up the oven. It’s contagious, it seems, as we all scour the shelves for flour. But what’s lockdown like if you don’t enjoy cooking up a storm?

Some of us don’t find the process of cooking therapeutic. For some of us there isn’t a thrill at the multitasking, the precision and the hit-and-miss outcome. Some of us just want to eat something really delicious, without all the effort to get there.

Now that the evenings are darker earlier it can feel like you don’t have the luxury of taking your time to lovingly craft a masterpiece for dinner. There’s no guilt in spending those precious hours doing something else that brings you joy.

Here are a couple of alternative eats for dinner this week…

Support Local

Walk to pick up dinner from your favourite local eatery to enjoy at home. Choose something that would be way too much effort to whip up in your own kitchen and all you have to do is set the table (if you want). Plus, many local cafes and restaurants offer ready-to-freeze options that you can take stow away for later.
