What makes Underprotection lingerie stand out compared to other designs on the market?
"The reason why we started Underprotection 10 years ago was because we saw a hole in the market. We felt that most of the more sustainable lingerie brands at the time were very basic and very simple, and we wanted to show that it was possible to combine both the fashionable part of lingerie with comfort and good fit and still some kind of sexiness. You can always expect bold and playful designs. Amazing colours, and own created prints that are paired with our creative shapes and fashion forward detailing."
What types of materials do you often work with and why do you think they’re important in underwear?
"We only use sustainable materials such as recycled polyester, recycled wool, Tencel lyocell and organic cotton. Most of our products are vegan approved, and if not, it is because it is recycled (wool) or a waste resource (milk)."
What advice do you have for women trying to find the perfect fit online?
"Measure yourself and follow the brand’s fitting guidelines. We don’t use wired bras due to comfort and the fact that wired bras are not sustainable due to the material of the wire. Expert tips for buying lingerie: it needs to be comfortable. Many women take off their bra after long days when they come home, but we want to show that it’s actually possible to keep the bras on and still feel very comfortable and feminine."
What are some important care tips to remember when washing lingerie?
"Always wash your lingerie in a washing bag for reasons being both to collect eventual micro fibres from entering our waterways and specially protect bras due to hooks or other trims. We recommend using a micro waste washing bag such as a Guppy Friend washing bag."
