“Your Body Is Powerful, Please Be Kind To It.”

Dear Robyn,

Sit back and hold on for dear life, you’re in for one hell of a ride. Ironically you’re probably in one of the only jobs in the world where the woman tends to earn more than the man.

You are modelling at your natural size and in your 30’s you never thought the fashion world would wake up, but they are. It's still a challenge to convince the world that inclusion is the way forward and you are still spending much of your work life encouraging people, who aren’t easily persuaded, to change the status quo.

Vocalising your opinion is hard in this world of social media trolling but you have to do it, change doesn’t happen overnight but body diversity is worth it.

Your body is powerful, please be kind to it; your diet and what you eat is very important, in fact life changing. You had it somewhat right as a teenager and that is something I do wish to impress on you. Don’t change that.

Veganism works for you and your health, for a strong immunity and defences to fight autoimmune diseases like your LUPUS and APS and most importantly help the environment. You need to eat those vegetables and plant those trees.

In fact this letter is turning into one I’m writing to myself today. I’ve been fortunate enough to travel the world and see it’s beauty, but I also know we might not have a functioning future without everyone helping the environment. We’ve got to nurture our ultimate mother and fight our heart out for Mother Nature.

You have flown a million miles and now it’s time for you to plant a million trees which is your next project.

Positive thinking; humans can be a great species for the planet, we can change the situation around us, we can nurture the planet back to health. Everyone can plant a tree and everyone can compost, fashion can be a sustainable and eco friendly business with a bit of forward planning.
