On Point: Why We’re Vibing 70s Collars

Turns Out, Size Does Matter

2019 is not the year to be shy. Instead, it’s time to be seen, to make a statement. We’re feeling the bigger (and better) collars that go all the way. After all, when it comes to these details, size does matter. Not to be messed with and super suave, they get straight to the point (literally).

Some have called it neo tailoring, but there’s nothing new about this. This style ruled supreme in the 70s. They’ve got a smooth-talking Slick Ribe vibe to them. Disco Fever, an up-all-night vibe. Think Elvis in Vegas, Saturday Night Fever, Casino and Last Days of Disco. Be unafraid to borrow from the boys. Hey, Bianca Jagger did … Often wearing collars to rival then-husband Mick’s.

So, how did we get here? Safari suits, we’re guessing. Also: clean-cut 70s-feel tailoring. Also: the pure thrill of more is more is more.

As for how to wear them, team yours with an all-over tailored look or play with textures and volume. We love a chunky, oversized knit that sits just so under our collars. Or: pile it on. The more layers, the better.
