We're Totally Obsessed with Tie-Dye (Again)

Don’t even need to DIY.

It was, once upon a time, the print of the Summer of Love, hanging on the corner of Haight Ashbury and saying everything was groovy. It was free-wheeling, free-loving and free-form.

For those of us who missed the original round as the Grateful Dead and Hendrix took on Golden Gate Park then Woodstock, you might have caught its early 90s come-back. If not, no doubt this is the print of your summer camp craft workshops and surf shops.

No matter where you found it, it's Cali-cool, counter culture at its most colourful. Woke, even. A bohemian rhapsody made with artisanal know-how, no two pieces are the same thanks to its craft. It’s a print of individuality, of creativity.

Also: a print Beyoncé wore on a recent beach sojourn, while Justin Bieber wore it to church.

From surfer girl T-shirts to summer-ready dresses, it’s been made modern. It’s the trend we’ve bought into in a big way, and play on the daily with silhouettes and fabrications.

So, how to rock it?

Use to turn up the volume on your neutrals  … Pair it with denim or, if you want to hit maximum volume, team it with other bold prints.

But really: any way you like. Follow the call of this print and go your own way.

Sadly we didn’t hang on to ours, so it’s time to reinvest. This time, play for keeps.
