After two-plus weeks of day naps, we understand that there can be a little reluctance around this whole come-back-to-work thing. It’s time, though, to make this year your year. The promotion, the pay rise, the corner office and / or whatever else was on that list of New Year’s resolutions. It’s time to take care of business (and earn some money for your next holiday…).
This January, we’re arming ourselves with a jumbo-sized coffee, plenty of moisturiser to ensure the tan stays put for as long as possible, and some updates to our work wardrobe to keep us feeling fresh and looking sharp. Here’s some back-to-work hacks in the style department. Best of all, they won’t break the bank. Which is just as well because that summer of yours was quite expensive.
The trusted white shirt / black skirt combo

The trusted white shirt / black skirt combo
Classic. Elegant. Timeless. This combo will see you through, no matter the dress code. We love it so much, we have multiples of each. Mix it up with different styles, match and match. For the shirt, have one on hand that’s more fitted as well as a few oversized linen numbers for your collection. Means you only have to endure laundry day once a week.
The black blazer you’ll live in

The black blazer you’ll live in
Your workday BFF and a wardrobes essential, a black blazer is an easy staple that will dress up any combination. The all-black looks makes getting ready of a morning a whole lot easier. Might even mean you can hit snooze one more time...
The pants you won’t want to take off

The pants you won’t want to take off
Did someone say relax? There’s nothing worse than too-tight pants sitting at your desk for 8-plus hours. A relaxed fit in a lightweight linen makes for the perfect summer workwear staple. Great, too, to pull out on the weekend, paired with your favourite beach-ready one-piece.
The make-a-statement piece

The make-a-statement piece
Forget leaning in, this is about standing out. The best kind of pick-you-up, this is the one piece you can pair with all your block colours for an instant wardrobe face-lift. Play with pop prints and bold tones or whatever else you’re crushing on.
