Sure we may have chuckled when George Costanza rocked up in his bloated Gore-Tex puffer, but years on look who’s laughing now. The gargantuan ski jacket is just one of the unlikely Seinfeld relics washing up in street style, but that’s not all.

On closer inspection it seems the origins of our favourite menswear looks are all pointing to the 90s sitcom we never get sick of. Maybe it’s a ripple effect of too much boxset binging or maybe Jerry was actually ahead of the game. Championed as the godfather of #normcore, if it wasn’t for his Dad-jeans and chunky white Nike Air sneakers - would we be where we are today? We tune into the Seinfeld hits that show no sign of fading.

Cosmic Collar
Cosmo Kramer never ceased to amaze us with his bizarro sartorial. Which are now surprisingly very au courant. His penchant for Hawaiian shirts in all kinds of outlandish prints from palm trees to lobsters have already been crowned cult. Wear just like him with pleated Grandad trousers (another unlikely season hit).

Parka Worship
George’s devotion to ‘scary weather’ attire goes deep. Aside from his maximalist puffer choice, there was one kind of outerwear that was his wardrobe mainstay. The mountain parka he collected in every colour - from forest green to that awkward safety orange. It’s the hiking trend’s best friend.

Sneaker Fever
Our obsession with dad sneakers may just find its root cause at Jerry Seinfeld’s feet. Always spotted in the most clunkiest Nike kicks in a so ugly-it’s—cool fashion. Xerox his style with a skivvy tucked into equally Dad-approved jeans for a 90s throwback.

Plaid For Days
You’ll be hard-going to find an episode of Seinfeld that doesn’t have plaid heavily featured. A mainstay for all the gang but mostly championed by best friends George and Jerry. A resurgence among the cool kids, checked prints buttoned-up like the sitcom cast and applied to any of the above styles is a winner combo.
