The silver screen has been no slouch when it comes to men’s style in 2020. From Tom Hardy’s killer pinstripe suits in Capone to Martin Lawrence’s throwback varsity jacket in Bad Boys for Life, there’s been plenty of sartorial firepower on display.

Bad Boys for Life
The third instalment of the always-incendiary Bad Boys series, Bad Boys for Life saw Martin Lawrence and Will Smith reunite to bring down drug lord Armando Aretas.
Appearing together 25 years after the original, the popular duo have lost none of their sartorial muscle, with vintage varsity jackets, timeless black button-up sweaters, and even a cameo by the bank-breaking Versace 2018/19 AW jacket.
A blend of casual modern and retro looks, Bad Boys for Life also had us yearning for some of the flammable fits from the original 1995 blockbuster. Our favourites? The retro-futurist, chunky Casio wristwatches, the Nike Air Maestros, and the simple black singlets paired with any kind of silverware (just make sure it’s big!)

Capone
The most notorious gangster in American history, Al Capone (AKA: Scarface), made a name for himself wearing imported Italian pinstripe suits.
Despite Tom Hardy’s stomach-churning rendition of mental and physical atrophy, Capone’s wardrobe stayed strong throughout the entire biopic. Hardy was fitted in lavish burgundy silk pyjamas, high-waisted pleated trousers, and a staple for any self-respecting mob boss: luxurious gowns.
As is well documented, Hardy is no scrub himself when it comes to personal style. His wide collection of three-piece suits (finished with chains) and double-breasted trench coats are just about as lethal as Capone’s solid gold Tommy Gun!

LA Originals
Directed by legendary Mexican–Italian photographer Estevan Oriol, LA Originals traces the narrative of Los Angeles–based artists Mark Machado (Mister Cartoon) and Estevan himself.
A venerable archive of style, the documentary is stacked full of LA fashion. Snoop Dogg’s BAPE x Lakers jersey, the ubiquitous Nike Cortez, adidas sweatsuits, oversized denim, and plenty of gold jewellery, combine to paint a radiant picture of Los Angeles and Latino culture.
The holy grail of silver screen style in 2020, LA Originals is the ultimate mood board for all things hip hop, street art, and tattoos.
Have a Good Trip: Adventures in Psychedelics
Written and directed by Donick Cary, Have a Good Trip: Adventures in Psychedelics brings together a star-studded cast to detail cosmic hallucinogenic journeys.
Sting, Nick Offerman, Sarah Silverman and Anthony Bourdain all make an appearance, but it’s A$AP Rocky that really dilates pupils, describing an episode where rainbows shoot out of his nether regions.

Wearing what looks to be a luxe Hermes blanket, and vintage Metallica tee, we don’t need any chemical substances to get high from Rocky’s wardrobe, the 31-year-old member of the A$AP Mob becoming emblematic of the increasing mashup between high fashion and hip hop.
The Grateful Dead’s legendary drummer Bill Kreutzmann also makes an appearance, of course wearing a signature tie-dye tee that’s again doing the rounds in contemporary men’s fashion (Yes, the Deadhead has returned!).
