Put away those two-piece suits, because power dressing just got more interesting. Forget the clean lines of a tailored pair of trousers and the sharp edges of a fitted blazer. Instead, take a page out of Amelia Earhart’s book and lean into this season’s New Utility trend.

July 24th is Amelia Earhart Day, in celebration of a pioneer who broke the mould and became one of the most successful aviators of her generation. What did she need to become the master of her craft? Determination and a damn good boiler suit.
As someone who lives in boiler suits, I can attest to their practicality and comfort. Being able to wake up in the morning, pull a full outfit out of your wardrobe and step into the world looking ‘dressed’ without any effort; If that’s not true power, I don’t know what is.

Utility wear has come back into the fore not just because of Amelia, but also because of other adventurous all-in-one-wearing women like Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel and there’s a reason for it. It’s fuss-free. It’s simple, efficient clothing, that also happens to exude effortless cool and be extremely comfortable.
If boiler suits aren’t your thing, there are other ways to lean into this powerful trend. I suggest investing in a pair of khaki trousers and aviator sunglasses to show you really mean business.
So, get out there and show everyone what you’re made of in your authoritative new look.
