Sometimes you just get lucky. The stars align and the universe smiles down on you. And this April is set to be one of those times. This year, the diary brings The Easter Long weekend close enough to ANZAC day to justify close to two weeks away from your desk.
So, what to do?

Head to the sea
There’s plenty of beach breaks you can do on the cheap. Nothing says holiday quite like a dose of saltwater therapy. Head for the coast and look up an AirBNB. We’re loving the sleepy town of Yamba. About 90 minutes south of Byron Bay, it’s got long, peeling waves. If you don’t surf already, now’s the perfect time to learn, no?

Head for the river
If searching for surf isn’t your vibe, head for the river. Go for a houseboat (fun!) or a riverside cottage and spend your days working on your cryptic crossword skills and trying to finish the Kids Sudoko (we haven't graduated to the grown-ups yet....).

Go bush
Hit up one of our many National Parks. Pack your water and sunscreen and go day tripping. We love a little time in the coast just before you hit Wollongong, around Garie Beach. The perfect escape. Or, take a longer trip and look for approved camping sites.

Try camping
Get back to nature and spend a night (or three) under the stars. All you need is a tent, some camping basics and to know the area you’re hitting. Crescent Head on the NSW far north coast is a favourite of ours, as is love Treachery Beach in Seal Rocks on the NSW mid north coast. Or, if you’re West Side, head for WA’s Lucky Bay. The place where you’re bound to make mates with Skippy.
