Our Top 5 Music Videos from 2018

From straight-up stylish to chick flick chic, these are the clips to watch on repeat

While Childish Gambino’s This Is America and Drake’s God’s Plan were iconic in their own way, there were some music clips that influenced our style in a major way...

5. Finesse – Bruno Mars ft. Cardi B

The original song may have been played on repeat for months beforehand, but that didn’t stop the remixed music clip featuring Cardi B from racking up over 13 million views in the first 48 hours of being released early this year. I think it’s safe to say that after watching and re-watching we’ve got our moves and ‘90s-inspired wardrobe down pat.

4. Walk it Talk it – Migos ft. Drake

While we probably won’t be rocking Drake’s Jheri curl hairstyle anytime soon, this ‘70s Soul Train inspired music video did make a strong case for big sunglasses, huge hoop earrings, disco pants and knuckle dusters.

3. Apes**t – The Carters

Filmed inside the famous Louvre Museum, Queen Bey’s costumes pay homage to some of the most influential women in art history. She nails each look, from plaid co-ords to a nude bodysuit, but the one outfit we can’t get off our minds is that pink satin suit.

2. I Like It – Cardi B, Bad Bunny and J Balvin

It’s been a big year for the American rapper and she made sure it was reflected in her outfits. Just when we were settling into the idea of winter, she dropped this tropical-themed music video that had us wondering: will our statement earrings ever be big enough?

1. Thank U, Next – Ariana Grande

It’s one helluva breakup anthem about empowerment and self-love; it revisits some of our favourite chick flicks, like Bring It On, Mean Girls and Legally Blonde; and it reaffirms that 2000s fashion is back in the best way. Yes, to feathers. Yes, to dog accessories. Yes, to all things pink.
