How has the pandemic changed your beauty routine?

It’s become more minimal and skincare focused. I barely wear any makeup these days, and go weeks without mascara! Cream blush and Dream Screen are the extent of my beauty routine – skincare is a little more comprehensive but barely!

Do you have any lockdown beauty horror stories?

Hmmm. I did a couple of really bad eyebrow dye jobs. To the point when my husband walked in and said “WTF have you done!”.

What’s your quick Zoom-ready beauty routine?

Cream blush and brushing my brows. I usually have a tube of Sheen Screen nearby so will whack that on too!

Did you pick up any lockdown beauty hacks that are so good, you can’t go back?

I’ve trained my hair to be washed once a week – it usually goes greasy-ish on about day 5 and holds out a couple more days with dry shampoo.

What are your top three tips for how to go back to the office in style?

Invest in a good trench – that way you can wear activewear underneath and still look chic, weekly blow-dries go a looooong way and make you look a lot more pulled together than you deserve to look. And Dream Screen gives you the ultimate glow – plus, added SPF 50 protection.

What was the first beauty treatment you booked after lockdown? 

My hair colour!!! That was booked during the lockdown and I stressed over it a lot. Lauren Mackeller in Melbourne is the best.

How can we ensure we’re protected from both UVA and UVB throughout the day?

SPF! And reapply! It’s so much easier to do with Dream Screen, dab a bit onto a beauty sponge and you won’t mess up the rest of your look. If you’re in direct sunlight, wear hats and sunnies too.

Do we need to reapply sunscreen during the day if we’re spending most of our time indoors?

If you leave the office to get lunch or coffee – yes! If you sit near a window – yes! If the answer is no to all of the above, maybe SPF reapplication isn’t your biggest problem. But if you’re only leaving a couple of times a day, you could probably get away with one reapplication. 

What’s a simple but effective AM beauty routine for anyone who’s struggling to get organised before work?

Antioxidants, hydration and SPF protection. I don’t wash my face in the morning – I Just splash a bit of water on my face, apply vitamin C serum, day cream and SPF. It probably takes me all of one minute. If you’re super pressed for time, our Supreme Screen can double as a day cream for most skins.

How do you keep your complexion from becoming dehydrated after being in the office all day?

Mists! And make sure you set a good base of skincare. If you start with dehydrated skin, it’s only going to get more dehydrated throughout the day.

What beauty products are always in your beauty bag?

Sheen Screen in various colours, a mini Queen Screen and a cream blush of some sort. And a brown/copper eyeliner pencil for smudging.

How do you relax and reset your complexion after a long working week?

I’ll usually apply an exfoliating mask of some description and regular facials. I go to James Vivian in Melb and Belameres in Sydney.
