Some days the daily grind feels like, well, the daily grind. Back-to-back Zoom calls, daycare pickups, hitting 10,000 steps, you know the drill. So how can we find a little more energy?
We checked in with Paramount Rev Club's Maya Butti, she's a holistic nutritionist and one of our go-to yogis (you can see more from her here).
"Yoga does wonders for energy levels! When we practice, we breathe deeply and more consciously, which helps oxygenate the blood and gives us more energy in return. The postures help move stagnant energy through the body as we elongate and strengthen our muscles. It’s a peaceful high that so many yogis get addicted to!"
Sounds good to us. Below, she shares her top three go-to yoga moves and why they make the cut.

WHEEL POSE
"This backbend is super invigorating. It opens the whole front-line of the body and lungs, which we often collapse due to poor posture and sitting at desks. I think there’s a bit of an adrenaline rush too!"

UPWARD FACING DOG
"There’s something about sweeping through on the inhale breath which is so revitalising. Updog always enlivens my practice."

INVERSIONS
"All of them! Inversions feel like a re-set for the whole body. They send blood to our brain and vital organs and help to rebalance our nervous system. A must for every practice!"
