Social distancing rules might be changing but our new iso-style, which consists mainly of sweatpants and “home clothes”, might just stay the same. Enjoying the all-day-every-day comfort of an elastic waistband, we asked Danielle Soglimbene, Head of Men’s Style at THE ICONIC and pro sweatpant-wearer since way before COVID times, how to get away with wearing our sweats on the regular, and make it look as good as she does.
What are the tricks to dressing up sweatpants?
“I love to add a nice coat or trench to my sweats and hoodies when leaving the house, just to jazz it up that little bit, also love adding a chunky boot or a kitten heel to spice things up, and of course, I love a chic chain to keep it femme.”

What styles are your go-to?
“Anything that is elasticated at the bottom is a go-to for me. Also, the more thicker fabrics, like a cotton jersey blend, always sit a lot nicer than the thinner, lightweight designs.”

Are there any rules? Like obvs don't wear dirty ones etc.
“Feel good in them – just cos you’re comfy doesn't mean anything is wrong. It’s all about the attitude… and maybe don’t wear them to a wedding!”

For those that aren't quite ready for actual sweatpants outside of the house, what pants are the next best thing?
“Maybe ease into a loose-fit cargo pant and then you can get yourself into a pair of trackies – you won’t regret it!”
