Holiday Boredom Busters: Let’s Talk LEGO Sets, Board Games & More

Remember being a kid, building freestyle and having the most fun ever? Apparently that’s NOT what the kids are doing these days. In honour of the next gen of LEGO heads, we’re sticking to the script, playing things by the book and reading the instructions. Who’d have thought? High on our list of LEGO Sets we’re lusting over, are everyday favourites from the LEGO City collection, the new Black Panther ship from LEGO Super Heroes and (obviously) Cad Bane’s ship, The Justifier, from LEGO Star Wars. An obscure but revered bounty hunter from that Republic-into-Empire Star Wars era, Cad Bane is one of the coldest characters we may or may not have seen revived in recent Disney+ series (no spoilers here), and one we can’t wait to add to our LEGO collection.

Ok this one could potentially backfire if placed in the wrong hands, but hear us out… NERF Blasters promise hours and hours of entertainment, and entertainment for them (preferably outside), means quiet time for us, right? Plus, with Minecraft, Fortnite and Roblox edition styles currently available, it’s a chance to move away from screens and enjoy the beautiful summer we’ve all been manifesting. Alternatively, cop yourself a Nerf Blaster, set up your phone in a series of discreet vantage points and start putting together a compilation vid of your best friends getting blasted. Sounds good to us.

When it comes to board games and puzzles, sometimes it’s golden oldies that hit the hardest. With that in mind, let’s take it old school for a minute with these certified summer classics. We’re talking Cluedo, Monopoly, Scrabble, Twister – whatever your game, we’ve got something for you.
