Assembling The Y2K Style Avengers

Far from saving the world from an imminent threat in the image of Thanos, we’re starting the week by reflecting on a handful of the best-dressed A-listers single-handedly (as if wielding the power of an infinity gauntlet) keeping our Y2K style dreams intact. Let’s start with our lowkey style icon Jonah Hill. When he’s not starring in Hollywood flicks or directing his own independent films, our boy Jonah is surfing, skating and styling the days away in a flurry of vacation shirts and adidas trainers. For a little extra sauce, Jonah double-dips with some bling and something sweet from his eyewear collection which seems to consist of every shade of tinted lens imaginable. Noughties boy bands, eat your hearts out. 

Seeing as Jonah likes to fly under the radar, we thought we’d switch up the settings with our next Y2K style saviour/Avenger and pitch a louder counterpart. We’ve opted for Justin Bieber. Husband, hitmaker and heartthrob (not necessarily in that order), The Biebs has a propensity for mixing vibrant colours and tie-dyed pieces into his everyday wardrobe of hoodies, sweats and sneakers. If you can find it in your typical pack of highlighters there’s a good chance Justin Bieber has already styled that colour correctly. An honourable mention is also in order for Justin’s 00s trucker hat collection. We’re pretty sure he’s in triple digits at this point. 

And finally, we hate Nate Jacobs but we love Jacob Elordi. And you should too. Much has been made of the depth of the costume/wardrobe department of the HBO hit series and it’s always nice to see our very own homegrown Euphoria star bringing the heat off-screen, too. Whether sauntering down Sunset Boulevard or the main drag of Byron Bay, Jacob’s aesthetic is heavily influenced by 2000s street style with a penchant for relaxed denim, sweats and Yankees hats. For an elevated Elordi-inspired look, a pair of relaxed, tailored pants with some loafers could be your new signature style.
