Jonah Hill has led his own revolution of late. Esquire named his as “the perfect approach to street style,” while GQ has dubbed him “our new style saviour”. A podcast (@throwingfits, formally known as Failing Upwards) even dedicated a day to the actor, director, producer, screenwriter, and comedian: named, appropriately, Jonah Hill Day.
We’ve long been fans of this LA-born and raised ‘83 baby. He's done some Really Big Things. (Including reminding us about tie-dye. Plus, his dad was the tour accountant for Guns N Roses ... Bet your career advisor didn’t tell you about that as an option).
There was Superbad, Knocked Up, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, The Wolf Of Wall Street for a start. He’s taken home Academy Award nominations and took his first step as a director with the coming of Age skater movie Mid90s.
When he finally emerged from the four years and 20 drafts it took to make Mid90s happen, he joined Instagram, died his hair and got some ink. And, while most of us were mastering the art of banana bread / watching a whole Netflix Series in a single sitting, he released a new collection for the one and only @adidasoriginals, including (but far from limited to) a reimagining of the iconic Samba.

Esquire and GQ are not alone in their Jonah Hill worship. From slobcore to street smart, he’s a Big Deal in the style stakes. Even the time he wore this:

(Our favourite of the captions that flooded the Twitter that day was this one: “When you have a business meeting at 6pm but a 48-point loss at 7.”)
His defence? As he told Jimmy Kimmel:
“You can’t live in a world where you’re wondering what people think of you. It will just drive you crazy.”
Here’s to the man who well and truly goes his own way, the inspiration we all need for 2021.
