A Different kind of flow

The undeniable satisfaction of coordinating activewear

Love activewear? So do we. And while you might think it doesn’t matter what you wear to work out in, we say, when you look good, you feel good. And – news flash  –  coordinating your activewear might actually help you workout…

One person who thinks so is personal trainer and founder of Unleashhed!, Alicia Beveridge. She never turns up for a workout without her favourite outfit.

“I love matching activewear sets! They instantly stir up feelings of ‘I'm a total superhero right now’ pre-workout,” she laughs. “Looking the part, especially in such a well put together way gets me ready for serious workout action. I feel powerful, strong and fearless and know I will do the matching set justice!”

And not only that, this Aussie personal trainer even goes as far as saying that feel-good activewear might actually spur you on to work out even harder (which is a great excuse for a little online shopping, right?).

“Feeling good in your active wear will motivate you to workout, it shifts your mindset to a place of self-care and self-worth,” she explains. “You'll be looking in the mirror as you work out at some point, so if you feel good, you're going to like what you see (damn, girl!) and as a result, you’ll be more motivated to keep at it.”

Thinking your workout wardrobe needs an overhaul? Alicia has some words of wisdom for choosing your next workout outfit. She says to focus on quality brands over quantity, and to look for breathable fabrics in flattering colours like black, leopard and bold hues.

“You’ll be sweating in them so you need the fabrics to breathe, plus don’t forget, they will be hugging your best assets, so don’t skimp on quality!” she says, laughing.

Well, excuse us, while we go shopping….
