Miranda Kerr, KORA Organics

“When I launched KORA Organics more than a decade ago and began the transition from modelling to starting my own business as an entrepreneur, no one was talking about clean or certified organic beauty. For so long, people thought that I was just the face of the brand or that it was just a licensing deal, but I built this company from the ground up — with my own money, my own ideas and I created it out of love and passion for health and wellness. I am so proud that KORA was one of the first brands to market, offering a healthier choice for you and the environment, and is now recognised globally. So, this International Women’s Day, I encourage you to work hard, follow your dreams. Stay true to what you believe in.”

Ere Perez, Ere Perez

“My beauty brand started in a small humble way, with a single mascara that used natural ingredients. Big things can come from small seeds, planted with love and care. We have never tested on animals, have always been cruelty-free and are almost entirely a vegan company. These values are in everything we do. Now we are pushing ourselves to be more sustainable than ever. This is the magic of women to plant their dreams in the world and watch them grow. Women are guardians of life, and we have enormous power in protecting the earth with our everyday choices. This is the essence of the Ere Perez woman.”

Fiona Stewart, Slip

In 2003, then 20th Century FOX Films State Manager, Fiona Stewart was prescribed acne medication that resulted in extremely sensitive skin and thinning hair. Her dermatologist suggested sleeping on a silk pillowcase. Unable to find one, she sourced the best silk she could find and wrapped it around her pillow. The results were dramatic and immediate. She’s never looked back. She had stumbled upon a long-forgotten beauty secret – and Slip® was born. “If you’re spending money on blow-dries, serums, creams and hair treatments you need to switch to sleeping on a Slip® silk pillowcase,” says Stewart. Sleeping on silk is a great expert beauty tip and a long-time beauty secret. Slipsilk™ fibres are significantly less absorbent than other fibres such as cotton, so they are less likely to steal your expensive face cream during the night. In laboratory testing, slipsilk™ was shown to absorb significantly less face cream and create 43% less friction on average versus cotton pillowcases with a 220-360 thread count, helping your face glide along the pillowcase all night long. Slip® is also the #1 preferred brand of silk pillowcases recommended by dermatologists for their patients, themselves and their families as shown in a survey of dermatologists in the United States conducted between 1-12 November 2021. “All this adds up to good news for beauty sleep, and considering we spend a third of our lives in bed, I wanted to make it count!”

Anna Lahey, Vida Glow

“Vida Glow is, quite simply, my passion. Everything from the brand’s beginnings, its philosophy and scientific innovation reflect my personal drive for helping people discover real results. My own introduction to ingestible beauty was completely transformative. Collagen supplementation didn’t just change my hair, skin and nails – it inspired my holistic approach to beauty and healthy living. This transformation ignited my passion for real beauty solutions, and I created Vida Glow to share the tangible results of ingestible beauty.”

Lindy Rama-Ellis, Fig Femme

“I tell the story of when Stella was born, which is the seed of why I founded this brand and the ethos behind it. Stella, my eldest, was a difficult birth – she exploded into the world and hasn’t stopped yet. I had some serious post-birth complications and one placenta blood poisoning and near-death later, I was bruised and torn and lucky to be alive. I had every kind of medication and the best doctors to help me but all they could do for the swelling was a frozen condom to hold between my legs. I mean, it worked but years later looking back I realised ‘wow how much more could be done?’. When friends have children I thought why isn’t something on the market for this major moment? Something chic, actually, well just about anything, would be better than that frozen condom! And then I realised I didn't want to stop there, I wanted to design a whole range of products that didn’t seem to be available at the moment. For post-waxing recovery to after spin class let alone after sex! And why not do it in a way that didn’t make me feel embarrassed but chic, that was classic and feminine, not sterile and awkward. From this point, I also realised that I wanted this as a category to be upfront, not back of the shelf. By that I mean this should be something talked about freely not hidden away. Both in your bathroom cabinet and also in conversation.”
