After months of home workouts, we’re taking it outside. Long winter runs are where it’s at to return to our PB … but, boy, it’s COLD. To be sure we opt for sprints over the snooze button, we’ve rounded up the best of base layers we’re relying on to keep us warm. You’re welcome.
LONG SLEEVES (OF COURSE)
It’s a delicate balance. Finding something that will keep you toasty for your warm-up, but not create Hot in Herre scenario. These are tried and tested by our team. While they weren’t keen on the 5am starts, they were good to go on these styles.
WIND BREAKER
Winter wind is ice-cold and a great excuse to bypass snooze and turn that morning alarm off altogether. But don’t give in – we’ve rounded up our want-to-wear anoraks. Perfect too for when you forget to check the weather report and the rain starts before you reach your PB split.
SOCKS
Keep the blisters at bay with made-to-run socks. Whether you like them low-cut or an old school rise, the trick is to always go for thickness. And, when you’ve found a pair that works for you – double down when you add to bag. That way you’ll always have a pair when one strays.
