Cost per wear. It's a great concept. The more you wear something, the cheaper it is. While this theory might not fly with our accountant, it's a great way to make sure you're choosing pieces you know will work hard for you. To sus out how to do this, we check in with the expert: Danielle Soglimbene, our Head Of Style Menswear.
The key, she tells us, is quality. "Try and invest in fabrics that will go the distance."
Also, reach for pieces that earn a place on your high rotation list.
"It's nice to have rotational pieces that will last you and will also sit well. C.P. Company do a lot of amazing long-sleeve tees that will be great for under tees, jackets hoodies for that extra warmth."
So, what are her three go-to hacks when layering?
First up, put it in neutral.
Soglimbene tips neutral tones are the key here.
"Think black, white and grey," she says. "Then you'll be able to wear with every item in your wardrobe."

Next, bigger is better.
"Go up a size with hoodies or jackets for the cooler months," she says. "It's always nice to still be able to layer and not feel the restrictions of it. It's a simple, but super effective solution: always go up a size you won't be feeling overwhelmed in it."
And last but not least: stick close to the rule of threes.
"Keep your layers anything up to three pieces anything more and it starts to look a little too messy."
On her to-bag list?
"They keep you warm and they make anything look cool."
"A must-have basic ... they are great to add a soft layer to your look and also can be used under a variety of items like a shirt, jumper, jacket, vest or anything else."
The trackies (of course)
"Go for something understated yet cool. Anything with vintage vibes – like Kappa – is a go."
