Why We’re Still Crushing On Kate Moss

“Why the f*ck can’t I have fun all the time?”

Kate Moss is the anti Super Supermodel who knows how to have a good time. Discovered at JFK, she soon called Christy and Naomi friends, rode in limos, was the face of Calvin and so many more. She is the gap-toothed, forever smiling girl, the model, the muse and now agent who calls this year her 45th. We’ve known her for what feels like forever, but how well do we really know the enigma that is KM?

“I don’t give interviews because I’m so sh*t at keeping my mouth shut when I do,” she once told VOGUE.

“Never complain, never explain,” has been her much-quoted motto and mantra. (Still, there are pieces of her to have and to hold. Our latest favourite? Once upon a time she told i-D Magazine how much she crushes on a young Elvis. “He was GORGEOUS.”)

“Social media is just not me,” she told The Guardian. “I’ve never really liked it – that whole thing of ‘look at me!’. For me, the more privacy the better, not telling people where I am and what I’m doing. All that is the opposite of what I want to do. I suppose that makes people more interested, I don’t know, but I certainly don’t do it for that reason. It’s not a game plan. I just have to live by my own rules.”

She’s renown, though, for her “off the record” stories. They’re the holy grail of fashion journalism. Her party days were the stuff legends were made of. But that was then and this is now.

“I got tired of feeling like Dracula. I wanted to see some daylight, and not just at six o’clock in the morning.”

Now, she sanctions sleep ins, extolling that to be tired is a sin. TBH, we're happy to follow any decree issued (especially this one) because, like John Galliano says,

“That’s the thing about Kate; you can’t help falling in love with her. She’s magical.”
