Why Single Sleeves Are All the Rage

Out with off-the-shoulder and in with asymmetric

The off-the-shoulder style is still trending, don’t get me wrong, but no matter how hard I tried to make it work, the more I realised it a look for everyone. The idea is great – they’re a little bit sexy, a little bit sweet, and they’re perfect for showing off sun-kissed shoulders in summer – but when you’re actually wearing one, it’s a different story. Forget reaching for anything, that top limits your arm mobility to nothing more than bent elbows only.

Cue the asymmetric cut. As seen on Elle McPherson and Eleanor Pendleton, it’s a style that hints at a little sexy shoulder but doesn’t stop you from doing everyday things, like fixing your hair or giving someone a hug.

The constant fixing and fidgeting of the neckline stops because you’ve now got a strap or a sleeve to keep things in place.

Nothing is stopping you from reaching for the stars, literally. No more dancing with your arms glued by your sides.

You can indulge in a flared sleeve without the worry of getting it dirty because you’ve got a free arm to reach for the food.

Meet our favourite single sleeve styles, the less annoying off-the-shoulder alternative.
