What To Do Now We’re All Dressing From The Waist Up

It’s still a yes for sweats.

Before the Covid-19 pandemic pretty much changed every facet of normal working life, it was already looking as if the tide was turning towards making the traditional work-life balance more fluid. Now that it’s safe to say the hands of just about every major corporation has been forced, working from home will be the new norm for the foreseeable future, but we’re also laying odds that devoting at least one day a week to Zoom meetings and home desk set-ups could become more mainstream once this is all over.

But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be dressing for the occasion that would otherwise be taking place in the office. Getting office-ready at home can help you enter a far more productive mindset, making you feel better about yourself and how you look, and getting you in the frame of mind to tackle the affairs of the day without having your head turned by the common distractions home.

None of this is to say that you need to don a suit and tie for a trip to your dining table, of course, but investing in some smart casual essentials that’ll suit a long shift at home, an important zoom call and a well-earned break on the couch will prove to be a savvy move. We’re thinking elevated chunky knits and dressed-down blazers, and, well, sweats.
