What Our Workwear Staples Look Like In 2021

When you’re at the office one day and working from home the next, your 9-5 wardrobe needs to be as flexible as your working arrangements. Think nice tops for the days when you’re only dressing from the desk up, but consider ones that can also be styled with any pair of trousers when you’re meeting people IRL. And by ‘any pair of trousers’ we mean pants that look professional but are also comfortable enough to actually work in – whether that’s sitting at an office desk (or dining table) all day or running errands all over town. Handbags can no longer be so tiny that they’re carried with just a forefinger and thumb, they need to be robust enough to transport laptops from office to home office and back again. Our shoe collection has shifted towards practicality too, especially since we’d prefer to walk or ride bikes than spend more time than necessary on public transport, so welcome sneakers, sandals, flat boots and even slippers to the workwear club. Jewellery is the only thing that’s probably remained constant, but that’s not stopping us from adding a few more shiny pieces to our collection – we work hard, we deserve it.
