We Tried The New Dyson Airwrap – Is It Worth $899?

The Dyson Airwrap™ Multi Styler now has both a drying mode and a smoothing mode for eliminating flyaways and polishing your style after drying. The smoothing mode is a no-brainer for refreshing hair in between wash days. There’s a firm smoothing brush for frizz prone hair (this attachment is incredible for achieving the impossible: a sleek style in a humid environment), as well as a soft smoothing brush for smooth, straight styles and fine hair types. Arguably, the biggest innovation is the new and improved curling barrels, which now curls in both directions, eliminating the need to switch attachments when you curl your hair in different directions. The volumising brush and filter attachment are the same as the original attachments, as well as the airflow speed, heat control and cold shot effect. You can now curl, shape, smooth and hide flyaways without extreme heat.

Is it worth the splurge?

Whether you’re already a Dyson Airwrap™ devotee or you’re yet to take the plunge and want to know if the Dyson Airwrap™ will work for you, you’re probably wondering whether the next generation Dyson Airwrap™ is worth the splurge. 

My verdict: it really depends on your current haircare routine. Personally, I use my current Dyson Airwrap™ daily, whether that’s to blow dry or refresh my style throughout the week. And as someone who is always running late, I love the efficiency of the new attachments. The smoothing mode for eliminating flyaways is also something that I would use daily to polish my style. Since I know that I would use the Dyson Airwrap™ Multi Styler Complete every day and that it allows me to achieve a salon-worthy style even faster than the original Dyson Airwrap™, it’s a big yes for me.
