We’re calling it: these TV couples win big in the style and the love stakes.

Angela and Jordan, My So Called Life
Striped long-sleeve tees, shearling-lined jackets, a whole lot of flannel; the teenage uniform of My So Called Life’s most confused lovers – Angela (Claire Danes) and Jordan (Jared Leto) – has all the hallmarks of a quintessential ‘90s wardrobe. This cult series aired in 1994 and is basically a fashion time capsule so if you’re looking for a little old-school skater style inspo, make watching it your weekend to-do.

Seth and Summer, The OC
We’ve seen the stereotypical nerd guy falls for popular girl romance more times than we can count, but the award for all time greatest goes to Seth (Adam Brody) and Summer (Rachel Bilson) from The OC. The duo – who dated off-screen too – were the masters of mix-n-match couple dressing. Seth’s polo shirts and chinos were the geeky antidote to Summer’s feminine with a side of sass aesthetic.

Blaine and Kurt, Glee
Proving that couples with similar style can look as cute as those who expertly clash, Blaine (Darren Criss) and Kurt (Chris Colfer) were always McKinley High’s best dressed. Both make their school uniform look fresh from the runway, while Blaine’s fondness for bold colour and bow ties and Kurt’s preference for plaid and a well-placed scarf are a match made in heaven.

Jackie and Kelso, That ‘70s Show
These two are more famous for having gotten together IRL, a decade after the show that made them famous aired its final episode. But on-screen, Mila Kunis’ Jackie and Ashton Kutcher’s Kelso were the funny, adorable, on-again off-again pair we couldn’t help but root for. Their small screen style was on-point too. From Kelso’s preppy raglan tees and puffer jackets to Jackie’s teddy bear coats and jumpsuits, their look was as chic in the ‘70s as it is now.

Jughead and Betty, Riverdale
There are plenty of reasons we’re obsessed with Riverdale but “Bughead” – the show’s cutest couple and best investigative reporters – is number one. Betty’s super sweet, ponytailed girl-next-door look is the antidote to Jughead’s darker, ‘90s-influenced style. We will literally never not be rooting for this pair.
While we're off watching The OC re-runs, you can get your couple style sorted with our new arrivals.
