Hollywood wunderkind Timothée Chalamet has been on an absolute tear of late. Recently appearing in The King and Little Women, Chalamet is also set to hit screens on Wes Anderson’s The French Dispatch and the sci-fi epic Dune, both premiering in the coming months.
But the precocious 24-year-old actor has also established a reputation as one of Tinseltown’s sartorial heavyweights. Rejecting stylists in favour of personal relationships with the likes of Virgil Abloh and Raf Simons, Chalamet has been spotted in everything from iridescent Louis Vuitton hoodies to Alexander McQueen’s flowering suits.
In light of the recent release of Dune’s debut trailer, we thought it was the perfect time to revisit some of Chalamet’s most memorable fits.
All hail the king!

Louis Vuitton Sequined Hoodie
For the London premiere of The King, Chalamet linked up with Louis Vuitton to arrive in a shimmering sequined hoodie that sent the Internet into overdrive.
The perfect balance between sportswear and formalwear, the jaw-dropping piece was manufactured with more than 3,000 Swarovski crystals and 15,000 sequins. Taking over 30 hours to assemble, the LV hoodie is a testament to Chalamet’s constant willingness to experiment.

Tie-Dye Overalls
Chalamet busted out acid wash tie-dye overalls for the 24th Busan International Film Festival in South Korea. Created by American artist Sterling Ruby, the ensemble was manufactured by Ruby’s fledgling label SR. Studio LA. CA.
Chalamet paired the hand-dyed overalls with a long sleeve button down and Chelsea-rain boot, the psychedelic look emblematic of the recent tie-dye revival in men’s fashion.
Need further evidence that tie-dye is taking over? Check out Chalamet’s tie-dye denim designed by the punk rock icon Stella McCartney (Chalamet paired the look with Travis Scott’s earth-shattering Nike SB Dunk collaboration).

Spring has Sprung!
A long-time fan of Alexander McQueen, Chalamet has a habit of flexing the kind of blooming floral suits that’ll make your eyes water. Including the McQueen floral arrangement that he wore to the BFI London Film Festival in 2018, Chalamet’s slim-fitting botanical suits are notoriously difficult to nail. Often paired with McQueen’s chunky, oversized sneakers, or stomping leather Chelsea boots, Chalamet proves that flowers aren’t just for the vase!

The Harness
‘I thought it was a bib – they told me it was a bib!’ Chalamet confessed to Ellen DeGeneres last year.
Joining the likes of Michael B. Jordan and the late Chadwick Boseman (who both wore harnesses at the ESPY Awards and SAG Awards in 2019), Chalamet donned a bedazzled Louis Vuitton harness for the 2019 Golden Globes.
A keystone of Virgil Abloh’s time at Louis Vuitton, the harness recently transitioned from niche fashion accessory to mainstream statement piece in 2020, the blockbuster look best paired with minimalist tailoring (as articulated by Chalamet).
Just don’t spill anything on it!

Is Grunge. Is Good.
Shot for the Little Women photocall at the Corinthia London hotel, Chalamet rocked a throwback Gorillaz tee featuring the digital band member, Noodle. An ode to 1980s Seattle grunge, Chamalet paired the tee with laidback Isabel Marant striped pants.
Bolstering the look with combat boots, Chalamet has repeatedly proven his more casual sartorial credentials, previously pulling up to ComplexCon in Kid Cudi’s ‘Entergalactic’ hoodie, and arriving for American talk shows in French football club jerseys.
Somewhat reminiscent of the e-boy look proliferating throughout TikTok, Chalamet proves that you don’t need a big bank account to nail men’s fashion in 2020.
