This Is How To Wear Pastels In Summer 2022-23

Everything from the colour palette to the fabrics you wear should feel light as a feather and soft as a cloud this summer. Diving deep into dreamy pastels will be easy this season with soft tailoring, dresses and even sportswear awash in lilacs, butter yellows and sky blue hues.  

Even the denim icons, like Levi’s and Tommy Jeans, are embracing a softer touch for summer, dominating the Soul Space edit. Coordinating chambray crop tops, shirts and denim skirts beg for a double-denim moment, while relaxed Y2K-inspired jeans and baggy denim shorts are the perfect accompaniment to vintage-inspired tees and the softest knits of the season. 

The colours and fabrics might feel perfect and pretty but the accessories and shoes pack a punch. Swap your staple sunglasses for frames that stand out, and instead of footwear that blends into the background, contrast your outfit with chunky Crocs or your favourite pair of white sneakers. Soft canvas totes are our choice for beach days, but when it comes to parties and after-dark, even the boys will be slinging a leather cross-body bag over their shoulder to carry the essential keys, phone, wallet etc. 

The Soul Space softness continues through to hair and makeup. If you have long hair it’s best worn in loose waves or a messy bun for that always on holiday feel. And for summer party vibes, try a full fuschia pout or blend it out from the centre to the lip line for an ombre effect.
