There was a time not long ago that we would rather risk twisting our ankles than wear anything less than a ten-centimetre heel. Flats were fine, platforms with a sky-high heel even better, but if it fell anywhere in between it was a definite no-no. We would put on our brave faces, teeter with a faux confidence on our tip-toes and smiled through gritted teeth to convince everyone that those foot-contorting sculptures we called shoes were “actually really comfortable”.
Then mid-heeled mules arrived. They were our compromise and we lived in them religiously. But they had to be block-heeled. We were happy to stoop to a comfortable two-inches above ground level so long as they weren’t a kitten heel. There was something about stunted stilettos that weren’t quite convincing enough.
Until we scrolled past these on Instagram…

Proving to look just as chic, and probably more practical than styles that made us tower over everyone else, we’re now happy little kitten heel converts. They still elevate our outfits but now we don’t have to be as precautious with each step. We still feel dressed up but now we can last all day and night without a complaint. Kitten heels are our new favourites and we're wearing them with everything.
