But before you change your desktop background to play a continuous loop of our favourite beach sunset pics or put in a request to office management to change your swivel chair to a hammock, try working your favourite off-duty wardrobe favourites into your 9-5 rotation first.

For some, it might be as easy as adding a tailored blazer and heels to the chic linen separates in your holiday collection, but for those with stricter office dress codes it’s time to get creative. Think small at first to complement tailored suits, like elevated beach accessories - shell earrings, necklaces and discreet anklets - or look to hair accessories that add a subtle touch of playfulness to pulled-back hairdos. Swap your usual leather tote for a basket bag on casual Fridays (if not every day) and make your commuter shoes a fashion-forward pair of flip-flops (just don’t forget to keep a pair of office pumps in your desk drawer for business meeting emergencies).
