It was the decade that gave us the internet, block heels, flannel shirts, Brittany and Justin…. and a stream of classic 90’s films just waiting for you to binge on this month.

The Chick Flicks:
Clueless (1995) – If you want to know what the ‘90s were like, watch Clueless. The fashion is amazing, the script is hilarious and the rom-com overtures are very, very cute.
Our favourite line: “You’re just a virgin, who can’t drive.”
10 things I Hate About You (1999) – Tough girl Julia Styles and our very own Heath Ledger reimagine Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing into a teenage angst rom-com. And it’s perfect. If you don’t have tingly feelings for Heath after this, you’re not human.
Our favourite line: “I know you can be overwhelmed, and you can be underwhelmed. But can you ever just be whelmed?”

The Thrillers:
Silence of the Lambs (1991) – One of the most disturbing psychological horror-thrillers of the decade, Jodie Foster is a young FBI agent who has to convince Anthony Hopkins (a killer psychiatrist behind bars) to give up information about a missing person’s case. And it’ll make you squirm.
Our favourite line: “I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice chianti”

Scream (1996) – A fun spoof of every slasher movie ever made, Scream still manages to be pretty damn scary. The opening scene with Drew Barrymore is both terrifying and scary movie comedy gold. It’s funny but don’t watch it alone.
Our favourite line: “You should never say, "Who's there?" Don't you watch scary movies? It's a deathwish.“
The Date Night movies:
Good Will Hunting (1997) – This beautifully written drama/rom-com will give you all the feels. And if Minnie Driver isn’t just the perfect girlfriend, we don’t know who is. Oh and Robin Williams is our favourite as the washed up, physiologist with the best one-liners ever.
Our favourite line: “Sometimes I wish I had never met you, because then I could go to sleep at night not knowing there was someone like you out there.”

The Usual Suspects (1995) – The swagger, one-liners and the star line-up of this film are classic 90s. And as the mystery unfolds in this tale of a heist gone wrong, we guarantee you will not be ready for the twist. Not ready at all. It’ll make you want to watch it again to see if you can pick up the clues along the way.
Our favourite line: “The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist.”
Seen these? Try this:
The Friday night moviethon - Our suggestion is for a little time with Keanu, Uma, and Brad…. Point Break (1991), Pulp Fiction (1994), Fight Club (1999)
The babysitting movie – Treat the little ones to the original and the best – Toy Story (1995), The Lion King (1994) or Home Alone (1990)
