When the cooler weather rolls around and the couch starts calling, it’s easy forget to look after ourselves, but avoid the temptation and your skin will shine all year long. Don’t make these common mistakes…
Eating too much comfort food – Mac ‘n cheese, pies, chips and lasagna all taste like a one big, giant hug, but they will do your skin no favours. Instead, snack on foods rich in Omega 3 fatty acids, such as salmon, walnuts, avocados, chia seeds, linseeds, olive and canola oil. That will help hydrate your skin from the inside out.
Not wearing sunscreen – Even though you’re not at the beach any more, you still need to protect your skin with sunscreen ALL YEAR ROUND. Apart from the obvious protection from skin cancer, it’ll stop your skin aging so fast.

Use cotton pillowcases – If you wake up with face wrinkles or unhappy skin, try swapping to a silk pillowcase. While everyone talks about silk being good for your hair (it reduces knots and kinks), silk is actually great for your skin as it doesn’t dry it out and it may also reduce fine lines.
Not drinking enough water – Even though we might not be sweating as much, the cool air and wind dehydrates our skin on a daily basis. So keep up your water count and smack on a bit of lip balm from time to time.
