The 3 Hats We Need This Summer

You know the drill: no hat, no play.

Protecting that face of yours should be priority number one this summer. SPF 50 and a shade-throwing hat are a must this season as we head into the great outdoors. Lucky for us, at our swim show, there were plenty of we-want styles on parade.

Perfect for the girl-on-the-go, the visor is the streamline version of sun safety. Great too for fans of the top-knot. If you’re going to be in the sunshine for an extended session, though, be sure to rub a little sunscreen into that scalp of yours.

The structured straw
The trusted Mum hat. We’ve ‘borrowed’ plenty of these from Mum over the years but it’s about time we invested in our own. This broad-brimmed beauty throws plenty of shade, protecting your shoulders, neck and décolletage for the win. With a firm fit, it’s perfect to wear while waiting for the kids to tire themselves out in the surf (we get it now).

The fold-and-go hat
This is the go-to for anyone who lives more than a block from the beach and needs to travel. Perfect, too, for anyone travelling to tropical destinations (hel-lo Bora Bora) and who don’t want to carry their hat as hand luggage. It will find its shape again. Just pack thoughtfully in your bag.
