Last year attendees turned the Golden Globes red carpet black in honour of the #TimesUp movement, but for the 76th edition they were back to making their own individual style statements. There were still those showing their support with TIME’S UP ribbons added to outfits at every chance – winner of best actress in a television series, comedy or musical Rachel Brosnahan wore hers like a bracelet – but aside from their shared stance on sexual harassment and gender equality in Hollywood, the most common trend we saw this year were bows, big and small.
Some bows were an integral part of the outfit, like the halter straps on Penelope Cruz’s intergalactic gown,

or the bow-tie Judy Greer wore to complete her modern-day tux.

While Danai Gurira’s oversized orange bow, with its floor-skimming tails, acted as the delicious icing on the cake of her one-shouldered dress.

Julian Moore’s gown, with its tailored, white on white execution of the trend, proved that bows don’t always have to be overly cutesy and feminine.

But it was the simplicity of the orange velvet ribbon tied around Constance Wu’s tulle-wrapped waist that won our hearts and made us want to add a little bow on just about everything.
