We’re weeks deep into working from home and the novelty of wearing our pyjamas 24/7 – even the ones that are nice enough to wear with jeans – is wearing thin. Styling ourselves from just the desk up for our daily Zoom rendezvous is no longer enough to satisfy our love affair with fashion. Our brain can no longer be fooled into thinking we’re going out out (a real world adventure, like beyond the grocery store) by simply popping on a pair of actual shoes and doing laps from the kitchen to the bedroom and back again. No, we’re at the stage where getting fabulously dressed up – heels, accessories, makeup, the works – is the only thread of normalcy we have to hang on to, and thankfully, we have the one and only Marc Jacobs to keep us inspired.
In case you haven’t been following along with the designer's physical distancing journey, allow us to fill you in...
From the makeup to the manicures, the outfits, the captions, and the hashtags – as extravagant as they might be for the non-designers of the world – it’s this kind of content that we’re living for, especially during a time where it seems like bad news is near impossible to escape.
So, in a bid to get us all back in a more playful and creative state of mind, we’re encouraging everyone to get dressed up, whatever that may mean for you, just for the fun of it. Catch us weekly in our #isobutmakeitfashion outfits on @theiconicau Instagram stories and challenge your friends to do the same too.
