Way, way, (way) back in 1996 an iconic American alternative rock band – The Lemonheads – released a song called I Lied About Being The Outdoor Type. Their lyrics, no doubt, spoke to a great many men world-over (some of us included…).
“I've never slept out underneath the stars / The closest that I came to that was one time my car / Broke down for an hour in the suburbs at night / I lied about being the outdoor type.”
And:
“I can't go away with you on a rock climbing weekend / What if something’s on TV and it’s never shown again?”
Very. Good. Point.
No matter, though, your tent-pitching skills or how long your could legitimately survive in the wild, there’s a whole lot of outdoor you can wear (inside, if you want).
Just-landed brands like White Mountaineering and Snow Peak have solid pieces you’ll want in your daily rotation, whether you’re alfresco or not. Also on our list? Traditional go-to’s The North Face and Timberland. Rugged and hard-wearing, that’s the order of the day.
And for those of you who don’t need to lie about being the outdoor type, they’ve got all you need also.
