From his fledgling years rapping with the raucous LA collective Odd Future to his Grammy-winning alter-ego Igor, Tyler, The Creator continues to sonically and sartorially reinvent himself.
Flowering from his skater roots in Fairfax, Tyler routinely implements a healthy dose of streetwear into his prep-school fits and luxury stylings, his GOLF WANG imprint thriving on pastel hues and high-end collaborations. A certified sweater savant and proud owner of numerous Russian ushanka hats, Tyler’s kaleidoscopic fashion lens is often difficult to predict.
In celebration of his sixth studio album, Call Me If You Get Lost, we thought we’d revisit six of Tyler’s sickest fits.

British Fashion Awards (2019)
Now this is how you stunt a letterman jacket, ladies and gentlemen. Presenting the Urban Luxe Award to Rihanna at the British Fashion Awards in 2019, Tyler slipped on his GOLF WANG x Lacoste varsity jacket, pairing the all-American outerwear with a cable knit beige sweater, chinos, and Dr. Martens x United Arrows footwear. Want to take your fit to the next level? Consider top-loading it with the Russian ushanka hat (if you’re game).

60th Annual Grammy Awards (2018)
A seismic sartorial ‘EARFQUAKE’. Pulling up in a snow white, Soviet-era ushanka hat, Tyler cranked plenty of necks at the 60th Annual Grammy Awards. Wearing the Supreme F/W18 overcoat with a luxurious baby blue LV scarf, Tyler provided some definition with black trousers, while classic white Chuck Taylors partnered with his white GOLF WANG tee. Beneath the ushanka hat, things got even more interesting, with Tyler bleaching his hair and dying it in wild leopard print. Dennis Rodman eat your heart out!
LACMA Art+Film Gala (2019)
A sweater savant, Tyler once again proved his preppy credentials with this fit from the LACMA Art+Film Galain 2019. A Gucci mega-fan, Tyler pairs his sunny yellow Gucci sweater with a ‘just knocked-off’ business shirt and tie. Khaki shorts extend the sartorial transition to the weekend, with long white socks and Dr. Martens Derby shoes. An aesthetic mashup of several influences, Tyler is no shrinking violet when it comes to bold headwear, the bucket hat catching plenty of drip.

Kodak Maverick Awards (2020)
Tyler picked up the first ever Kodak Maverick Award last year, marking the occasion with one of his signature pink Lacoste cardigans. A simple GOLF WANG baseball cap, white tee, and gold necklace tied the look together, while grey chequered trousers presented some texture.
‘WUSYANAME’ Music Clip (2021)
In the music clip for ‘WUSYANAME’, the fourth track in Tyler’s ‘Call Me If You Get Lost’, Tyler is cruising the countryside in a baby blue heritage Lancia Delta HF Integrale (Tyler is a self-described motorhead). Behind the wheel, he’s also packing plenty of swagger, wearing his signature leopard print vest and caramel ushanka.

Lollapalooza (2018)
Did someone say tie-dye? A long-time advocate for the sartorially psychedelic, Tyler routinely dilates pupils with his tie-dye fits, the style recently revitalised in the fashion zeitgeist thanks to the Grateful Dead revival and the unofficial merch that fuelled the movement. Still, it’s Tyler’s Lollapalooza fit from 2018 that we often circle-back to, the explosive tie-dye print burning brows during his set.
