(Re)Introducing The adidas Forum

Swish.

Few names in the sneaker game get close to adidas when it comes to pulling pairs from the vault, and the evergreen adidas Forum is among the latest archive models to get a revival.

Arriving in three distinct street-ready silhouettes – aptly named the lows, mids and highs, as well as a platform low for the ladies – the adidas Forum is a throwback to '80s court style. Since its reissue in 2020; accented by a string of high-profile collabs with sneaker institutions Footpatrol, Sneaker Politics, BSTN, SVD and more; Forums have hit even harder in the first half of 2021. To date, we’ve seen all three re-issued silhouettes receive the collaborative treatment with partnerships spanning music, sport and fashion, as well as the introduction of the women’s only edition platform, dubbed the Forum Bold W.

Debuting in a foray of familiar adi colourways, the Forum Bold W is well on its way to cementing its status as one of the must-have sneakers of 2021. Like its predecessors, the Forum Bold W sports a retro trefoil logo and the iconic ‘X’ design minus its equally notorious ankle strap. Add in the extra height afforded by its 4cm platform sole and you’ve got a seriously street worthy contender. Not that the ballers originally affiliated with the shoes needed it.

Donned by legends of the game following their inception in 1984 (including Michael Jordan before his famed Nike endorsement came to fruition*), adidas Forums sent shockwaves through the NBA and captured the hearts and imaginations of cultural tastemakers of the time.
