Our Favourite spots to swim in Croatia

Krka National Park

You’d never expect to see fresh water running so clear just an hour out from a bustling city but Krka National Park is proof. There are a number of quiet little spots to take a dip in along the river but swimming by the waterfalls can’t be beaten. There’s a park entrance fee but the refreshingly cool, crystal clear lakes are 100% worth it, plus it includes a boat ride down the river if you’re not so keen on taking the scenic hike to get there.

Palmizana Beach, Hvar

Situated on the island of Klement in the Hvar archipelago, Palmizana is one of the top 10 must-see destinations on the Adriatic. Aside from being picturesque and having a small selection of restaurants and bars right by the water, one of the best perks of this beach is it’s soft, sandy bed - if you’ve spent previous days exploring the many pebble beaches that Europe is known for then you’ll understand just how good you’ve got it here.

Srebrna (Silver Beach), Vis

Lined with shady pines on one side and exposed to the open sea on the other, it’s clear to see why Srebrna is one of Vis’ most beautiful beaches. The island was once completely closed off from visitors for many years, serving as a military base from 1959-1989, which kept it from being overly developed, so pack plenty of food and water (and bring some proper shoes) because here, you’re surrounded by nothing but nature.

Beach Oslić, Stari Grad

Compared to the aforementioned hot spots, you might think Beach Oslić by day doesn’t seem so spectacular. But once the sun starts to set, it falls directly between the two heads and casts a shimmery light over the ocean pool - perfect if you love a late evening swim.
