As much as we obsess over our trophy tops, with their statement-making prints and their attention-seeking sleeves, we’ll always secretly love our basics that little bit more.

They don’t get the recognition they deserve – no one ever remembers the stretchy bandeau top that solved our ‘what do we wear with this’ situation that happens so often with all kinds of outfits from boyfriend blazer getups to dresses with plunging necklines or high-waisted pants in busy prints.
