New Stranger Things Has Us Adding These '80s Styles to Bag

Channel Eleven.

The phenomenon and obsession around Stranger Things' fashion started when season one first hit our screens in 2016. After graphic t-shirts hit the runway at a Louis Vuitton in 2017, the cult TV show continued to influence collections with oversized pastel jumpers, piecrust collars, and baseball caps.

Now season 3 has hit our screens and everything is BIG. Big hair, big patterns, and of course, big shoulder pads. If you have already dived into the new episodes, you’d be pretty familiar with Starcourt Mall, where Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) gets her ultimate '80s makeover, in one of the best makeover montages ever. But you don’t need to be a resident of Hawkins to get these killer looks into your wardrobe.

Jim Hopper (David Harbour) has transformed from earlier seasons and is giving us some serious Magnum PI vibes in his Hawaiian shirt and stonewashed jeans combo. Eleven is also rocking some bright shirts with electric blue suspenders which is our new weekday vibe!

If there was one element from '80s fashion I hope will never die, it would be high-waisted pants, making a slightly shorter gal, look like she has legs for days. Season 3 sees high-waisted shorts and paper bag waistlines paired with colour-blocked polo shirts and a brightly coloured belt.

Practical, fun, and now making a stylish comeback, hair accessories are a must of any '80s gal. Plus, the scrunchie is back in full force for season 3, holding up high ponytails and perms for whatever monsters or activities the day might throw at you.

Make your look that little bit more authentic with some retro sneakers. With Nike just announcing they’re also jumping on board the Stranger Things bandwagon releasing some ST-inspired sneakers, you too can feel like you’re solving Russian crimes around Hawkins in some throwback kicks. Bright colours are where it’s at, pair them with some knee high white socks and you’ll be ready to kick it with the gang.

Whatever look you go for, a vibrant blue or purple eyeshadow is a non-negotiable to fulling bring your '80s mood to life, extra points awarded for a hot pink lip!
