How To Travel Light

The must-packs (and the how-to-packs) for guys on the go.

There’s something quite romantic, quite liberating about packing light. Carry-on only, with little to no baggage – emotional or otherwise. Someone slightly older and obviously wiser once told us all you need to take off is a credit card and you’re good to run.

While we’re not going to pack quite that light, there are some must-carries for guys on the go.

Like women who are about to have a very small plus one have a hospital bag, it’s wouldn't do you any harm to have a mental stocktake of your getaway bag. Like we were told in Scouts: be prepared.

You need to pack the essentials, but also the feel-goods. Consider it your run-away capsule collection. Every piece needs to work together but also be a ‘hell-yeah’ when you reach for it in that weekender of yours.

In it, you need a fresh set of jocks, a staple crew-neck t-shirt, shorts that can double for swim. A party-ready shirt, your favourite kicks, and some heavy-hitting moisturiser (planes can make your super dry). Also: some easy-wear long pants and of course, some slides.

Now, it’s time to plan your escape.
