Hi-lo country, more human than most. Loved for all her curves - deep valleys of rusted earth. This is Navajo territory. Crumbling rock and sun stained prairies. Artist Georgia OāKeefe had a long love affair with this part of the world. Making home on Ghost Ranch in a terracotta adobe that was accidentally built on rattle snake nesting grounds. Her paintbrush traced mountains and canyons over and over again from her kitchen window. On that same dirt you watch the deers and their babies eating in the alfalfa field as the last light flickers. Kick the pink dust off your cowboy boots and declare yourself home sweet home.
