Here’s How To Cool Off On A Scorching Hot Day

Talk about too hot to handle.

It’s getting hot in here (quite literally) with summer in full swing. To call these days balmy would be an understatement – we’re nothing short of soaked in sweat. But we have a few tricks up our sleeve when it comes to staying cool before the refreshing arrival of Autumn come March.

Get on and get wet

Armed with your own pool? You lucky duck! This is the perfect part of the year to be spending as much time in it as possible. But if you don’t boast your own just yet don’t worry an inflatable pool can be just as fun (especially if you have a few tykes at home). Plus they are far more appropriate if your living space is limited. And don’t forget about the joy of running through the sprinklers, no matter your age.

Stay hydrated

When the day’s temperature has far surpassed the mid twenties it’s important to make sure that you’re laden with a plentiful water supply – after all it’s recommended that we sip on 2 to 2.5 litres per day. The easiest way to ensure your intake is optimum is to arm yourself with a decent (and ample) water bottle that can hold a good litre of h20 at a time, like the Frank Green 2L Stainless Steel Ceramic Reusable Bottle with Straw Lid.

Scoop yourself silly

Summer and ice cream are synonymous for good reason. Whether you’re team cup or cone, these icy treats are one seriously refreshing way to cool off when the humidity is high. But best of all, they’re appropriate for all ages. Amp up your ice cream (or gelato) experience with a specially designed scoop and bowl set.

Slap on a hat

If you were raised in Australia you have no excuse not to slip, slop, slap – it’s essentially our national motto. But not only is staying sunburn-free important, but a hat (especially a wide brim option) is going to keep your noggin shaded throughout the hottest part of the day. Remember when it comes to sun protection, bigger is always better.
