We have more than enough things on our physical distancing to-do list (like read a book cover-to-cover, finally give our sneakers a good clean, and build a mini gym in our lounge room) but right now, we’re in the mood to veg out. Not to anything too deep or dark – we’ll watch the news for that – but something that’s easy to watch and might even get a decent out-loud laugh out of us. Naturally, we’re turning to our favourite comedies on Netflix to binge, but these are all the ones we’ve seen before, and while we’re happy to watch on repeat, we feel like there’s gotta be more…

Movies:
The Nice Guys – it’s always good to watch a little Ryan Gosling when you’re down.
Step Brothers – LOLs from start to finish, even if it is your 100th time watching it.
The Other Guys – trust Will Ferrell to make you laugh.
Elf – funny any time of the year.
This Is The End – ridiculous but kinda feels fitting right now.

Classics:
Coming to America – gotta love old school Eddie Murphy.
Ferris Bueller’s Day Off – funny in a subtle way but always a good watch.
The Wedding Singer – oh, the days when Adam Sandler was in his prime...
Rush Hour – Soo Yung singing in the car is literally me whenever Mariah comes on.
Happy Gilmore – the “get me outta here” scene is all of us in our house rn, if you know, you know.

Series:
Brooklyn 99 – plenty of episodes to binge here.
Tiger King – not intentionally a comedy but a wild ride nonetheless.
Wet Hot American Summer – the cast is everything in this show.
The IT Crowd – great if you love British humour.
Summer Heights High – which is your favourite Chris Lilley? Mine’s Mr. G.

Stand Up:
Dave Chappelle – controversial but funny if you don’t take things too seriously.
Kevin Hart – he’s the highest-paid comedian for a reason...
Jo Koy – if you’re Filipino or know someone who is, you’ll love him.
Eddie Murphy – can’t not think about how uncomfortable that red leather getup is.
Trevor Noah – a nice change from American humour and very insightful.
