Dark Mofo and Vivid are bringing to light one of the most fascinating and dynamic music artists of our time. The two light festivals come together, bonded by performances by captivating singer-songwriter FKA Twigs.
First she’ll be dancing her way into Carriageworks for one night only on 9th June, followed by a trip down to Hobart on 14th June.
The Londoner has a unique sense of style that acknowledges and respects her cultural heritage — playing and constructing new meaning with symbolic iconography, decorating herself with luxurious fabrics and adorned jewellery.
Twigs creates music that reflects her personal narratives and histories. They come to life in her performances and music videos, with powerful, emotive representation of self. She directs most of her own videos, putting herself in control of the look. This continues off stage, where her style stands out on the street.

Her version of a ‘costume’ is a huge part of FKW Twigs’ performance wardrobe.

We see her take from the Romantics in the 80s, a nod to gothic yet with an undeniable twist. Red shorts are combined with a ruffled white shirt and incredibly embellished waistcoat combo or playing with perspective and scale, with oversized pants and shirt

FKA Twigs takes her cues from 90s New York Club-Kids, balancing oversized sweatshirts with patterned tights, and crazy heels to create a going out look that is like no other.

This look takes inspiration from Galliano Dior collection, Fall 2003, which pushes her into a provocative sartorial territory; with an art history nod. The outfit is a combination of underwear, sleepwear, and outerwear. Which, when matched mountains of gold jewellery makes it a perfect look to head out in.

Here she takes her accessories game to the next level. ore is more. Styled with futuristic sunnies or just pearls placed on the face, she makes her own rules..
