Can Confirm: You’ll Want A Beige Trench Coat

The classic jacket that’s taking over the street style fashion scene

Maybe it’s the Meghan Markle Effect (she brought the neutral-toned duster jacket to our attention during her Sydney visit last year), maybe it’s because everything earthy-coloured is consuming our closets, or maybe it’s just a classic case of a fashion trend coming full circle. Whatever it is, we’re suddenly seeing way more snaps of beige trench coats filtering through our Instagram feeds, and now that the weather is getting cooler, we want in.

Perhaps we’ve been brainwashed by the idea, but all we see are the benefits. They’re the perfect weight for in-between seasons, and once winter is in full effect, they’re just another layer to rug up in. They don’t clash with anything so they’ll blend well with all 7 of the major trends for the season, particularly earth tones, animal prints, and even neon (read here for a refresher of what else is trending RN). They look good tailored, but even better when they’re oversized, so no need to worry if your size sells out. If you ever feel frumpy you can always cinch your waist with a belt. And most importantly, they’re a wardrobe classic that you’ll be able to keep forever.
