When a fresh-faced Beckham first emerged as a free-kick scoring wunderkind, he simultaneously did so in a way that changed football’s relationship with style altogther. The archetypal pretty-boy with an a-lister on his arm, Every style-conscious man instantly wanted to be him.

Retro sportswear is having a red-hot moment right now, with everything from baggy drill tops to chunky skate shoes finding their way back into the fold. Becks, throughout much of his career, laid out the DNA for the looks streetwear kids try so hard to emulate today.
