An interview with Vida Glow founder, Anna Lahey

Plus, we reveal the brand’s newest launch.

The health and wellness space has absolutely exploded in the last couple of years, and one of the hottest brands to deliver on the innovation front is Vida Glow. Launched by founder Anna Lahey, the brand offers marine collagen powders, skincare and supplements with the vision to better your hair, skin and body from the inside out. Yep, we’ll take one of everything! 

Here’s what Anna had to say about her brand’s latest product, her favourite marine collagen powder flavour and more. 

On what sets Vida Glow apart from other beauty and health brands… 
“Our approach is truly unique. Each new product development starts with identifying key beauty concerns for women – like pigmentation or hair loss – and solidifying a complete understanding of their key causes. We then look at how we can most effectively and efficiently target these concerns with ingestibles. Sourcing innovative, clinically-backed actives and determining the best delivery methods to maximise each ingestible formula’s efficacy. By extending our science-first lens to every step of the process, we treat concerns from the inside out for visible results."

On whether she’s surprised by collagen’s popularity… 
“From my own introduction to marine collagen, the results I experienced and the research I discovered, I knew ingestible beauty would be transformative. Both for our routines and the beauty industry. 

When we launched Vida Glow, collagen wasn’t the buzzword it is today. It wasn’t an overnight success by any means. Previously, misconceptions about the science of ingestible beauty have been a barrier – a lot of people believed ingestible beauty was pseudoscience. And while the clinical evidence has been around for some years, the conversation about its efficacy is finally making its way into mainstream conversations.

More experts at the forefront of skin health, like dermatologists, are investing in understanding the science behind ingestible beauty. And they’re advocating the benefits of treating skin concerns effectively with it. This has been a huge game-changer because consumers are now hearing from professionals, and not just brands, that these products really do work. On what’s next for the brand… 
“Our NPD (new product development)  focus is extending our Advanced Repair range of ingestible treatments for specific beauty concerns across skin, hair and the body. Radiance and Hairology were our first moves into this space, and we have another game-changing launch to come later this year. It’s so exciting to push the boundaries of what ingestible beauty can do in beauty.”

On her favourite Vida Glow product… 
“I have to pick two – and that’s not an easy task! My favourite products at the moment are Hairology and Radiance. Radiance is a vegan capsule that brightens the skin and reduces signs of pigmentation like sunspots, melasma and dark under eyes. The results from Radiance’s clinical trial results were incredibly robust. Our customers are seeing its transformative results within weeks – and it’s made a significant improvement in my pigmentation too.”

On her favourite collagen flavour at the moment… 
“Mango! I put two sachets in a water bottle when I’m at the gym. It’s an easy way to get two of my daily collagen doses in.”
